This fountain pen is created from huon pine timber. Huon pine is a distinctive Australian timber with an extremely fine grain and a striking, rich creamy tone. It is a highly sought after timber, for its beauty, durability and workability. The early timber cutters, scoured the entire Tasmanian wilderness to cut and haul out huon pine logs. The timber was used in furniture, washtubs, and in machinery and patterns for casting. Huon pine is regarded as the best boat building timber in the world.
Every pen is handcrafted by Brisbane wood artisans who hand turns each pen on a lathe in North Brisbane. Using a meticulous thirteen step sanding and polishing process we highlight the unique beauty of the azure blue and ruby red acrylic.
