Wooden Pen - Celtic (Silky Oak Timber: Antique Pewter)

If you are looking for a unique pen, the celtic pen is for you. It features intricate celtic knot scrollwork on the tip, clip and end and a deep green emerald coloured cabochon flashes in the light. The authentic patinas and natural darkening of the metals brings out the celtic knot details beautifully. All components are solid brass with pewter or brass plating for durability and uniqueness. It has a smooth twist mechanism and the 123mm pen body is designed to show off the timber. It has great balance and is not light weight, making it amazing to write with.

This wooden celtic pen is created by an artisan who hand turns each pen on a lathe in North Brisbane. Using a meticulous thirteen step sanding process and 10 coats of CA we highlight the simple, innate beauty of the timber. This pens is handcrafted from silky oak timber.

Silky oak is one of the most popular ornamental native trees in Australia with it’s stunning vibrant orange, toothbrush like flowers. Silky oak timber was once used extensively in North Queensland for house framing, cladding, moulding, joinery, windows and flooring. There is much vintage furniture displaying silky oak's coarse, variable, decorative and textured grain within the wood. Silky oak is a light to medium reddish brown timber, it is highly figured, with distinctive grain and large medullary rays. Silky oak has long been a favourite of furniture makers, wood turners and carvers. The natural uniqueness in the woodgrain and timber colour variations, means that each wooden pen we create is one of a kind.

The celtic pen features a silent, smooth twist mechanism and takes a Parker style refill. It comes with a black ink refill and you can purchase additional Parker style refills below.

 The pen comes in a quality, black presentation case.
