This listing is for a Sierra pen and Kent letter opener with quality gold fittings in black bean timber. Black bean is an Australian rainforest tree with dark-brown to almost black timber and can sometimes be streaked with lighter coloured bands. The grain is quite coarse and often features striated lines. Black bean derives its name from the large bean-like fruit which hang down like pendants. The timber in this pen and pencil has been harvested locally from the Moreton Bay region in Queensland.

This Sierra pen has 24k gold plated fittings and features a smooth click mechanism which reveals the nib. It is loaded with a quality black Parker style pen refill and is easily refillable. This letter opener is a handy addition to any household or office. This dagger style letter opener will effortlessly slice open all your envelopes with ease, leaving lovely smooth paper edges.

Each pen and letter opener is handcrafted by an artisan on a wood lathe in North Brisbane. Using a meticulous thirteen step sanding and polishing process and 10 coats of CA we highlighted the simple, innate beauty of the timber and create an exceptional, super glossy and durable finish.
