This gift set features celery top pine timber. Australian celery top pine timber primarily grows in the western highlands of Tasmania and is so named for the celery-like appearance of its leaves (which are actually flattened stems not leaves). It is considered a high value and speciality species by the timber industry. The timber is a pale and creamy colour with clearly defined growth rings. Celery top pine timber is strong and durable, being highly prized by fine furniture makers and wooden boat builders. The wood is commonly used for flooring, ship masts, furniture, cabinet work and spindle turning.
