This Sierra pen is turned from jarrah timber. Jarrah is a slow growing magnificent tree that may reach heights up to 40m. Jarrah only grows in the iron and aluminium-rich south-west corner of Western Australia. It is one of the world’s best hardwoods and is highly prized. Jarrah timber usually has fine, straight grain with a medium to coarse texture. It is dark pinkish red to reddish brown in colour, with vintage jarrah maturing to a rich burgundy colour. This jarrah timber is salvaged from a store in Virginia, QLD.  The natural uniqueness in the woodgrain and timber colour variations, means that each wooden pen we create is one of a kind.

This wooden pen is created by an artisan who hand turns each pen on a wood lathe in North Brisbane. Using a meticulous thirteen step sanding process and 10 coats of CA we highlight the simple, innate beauty of the jarrah timber and create an exceptional, super shiny and durable finish.

This Sierra pen has gold fittings and features a smooth click mechanism which reveals the nib. It comes with premium black ink and takes a standard Parker style pen refill. Find our quality Parker style pen refills here.
