The Frankie features a modern gold plated design with a post-able faceted end cap in black. This well balanced pen has a German iridium nib for precision writing and uses easily replaceable international standard ink cartridges and comes with one black sample ink cartridge. It features an environmentally friendly piston converter that allows you to refill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

The wood featured in this pen is jacaranda timber. Jacaranda is a popular tree that is eye catching in spring throughout Australia with the tree ablaze with bright purple flowers. The timber is pale and creamy with a faint timber grain visible. It is not an Australian native tree but grows plentifully and is especially well known in the Grafton NSW region as well as Brisbane. Brisbane City Botanic Gardens is the site of Australia’s first grown jacaranda tree (planted in 1864). It was made famous by the artwork ‘Under the Jacaranda’ painted in 1903. The first jacaranda remained tall and beautiful in the botanic gardens until 1979 when it was blown over in a cyclone. This jacaranda timber is from Redcliffe, QLD. 

Every pen is handcrafted by Brisbane wood artisans who hand turns each pen on a lathe in North Brisbane. Using a meticulous thirteen step sanding and polishing process we highlight the unique beauty of the azure blue and ruby red acrylic.
