The Squire Pen - Black Wattle (Silver Fittings)

The Squire pen is a writing instrument with a slight nod to a bygone era while retaining modern functionality and charm.

This pen is created from black wattle timber. Black wattle is a native Australian hardwood timber which ranges is colour from light golden-brown to deep-brown sometimes with a reddish tint, often with black or golden streaks. The grain can be straight or wavy. Black wattle is named after its dark bark which contains high levels of tannins, used in tanning leather. Different parts of the black wattle tree have been used to make rope, glue and tea. In some regions the indigenous Australian people used black wattle timber to make clapsticks.

The handcrafted timber body is a sleek 123mm, and the cap and tip finials feature low profile diamond texturing known as knurling. The antique silver plated fittings are extremely durable and provide great contrast with the hand lacquered finish. The smooth twist mechanism reveals a Swiss tungsten carbide ball, Parker style refill with West German ink.
